Antique Fitzhugh Porcelain

The Fitzhugh pattern holds a storied place in the world of ceramics. It originated in the late 18th century during the Qing dynasty. Named after Thomas Fitzhugh, an 18th-century English merchant believed to have been one of the first Westerners to order it, this pattern is recognized for its detailed and highly stylized designs.

These pieces were crafted with the Western market in mind, combining traditional Chinese craftsmanship with designs that catered to European tastes. As such, they became highly coveted items, symbolizing wealth and sophistication in European and later American households.

Take a Tip From Martha

And what better American household to start with than that of the domestic goddess Martha Stewart? The dining room in her beautiful summer estate, Skylands, featured above, is painted in the deepest tone found in her collection of Orange Fitzhugh Porcelain, a collection handed down to her by the home’s previous owners, the Edsell Ford family.

We are in love with this beautiful tablescape, which has us dreaming of a Thanksgiving in Maine. While we might not be hosting in this beautiful setting or have the opportunity to count Snoop Dogg among our Thanksgiving guests, we can certainly channel Martha’s flair for creating a warm and inviting table. With beautiful pieces from this pattern available on our Reserve Page, it’s the perfect time to #buynow and ensure your table is ready for the big day.

Valentino Too!

But why should Thanksgiving have all the fun? Hanukkah and Christmas are peeking around the corner, ready to be dazzled by a tableau of blue, white, and festive pops of color.

Yes, we are obsessed with Valentino’s lavish settings, and who’s to say our holiday tables can’t sparkle with the same elegance and sophistication?
