Championing Small Business Saturday!

Big Impact: Small Businesses

This Small Business Saturday, I want to take a moment to celebrate our incredible team at Town & Sea: Anna, Amy, Kyla, and Lacey. You are all incredible! I also want to take a moment to highlight the many wonderful small business owners who contribute so much to our community. We are indeed the champions, my friends!

While we may not always enjoy the “fame and fortune” that Freddy Mercury so beautifully sang about, the dedication and courage it takes to own a small business are not for the faint of heart — however, the success of building one is worth the toil. Owning a business isn’t just a hobby or a paycheck; it’s a journey filled with friendships, invaluable lessons, personal growth, and unexpected wisdom.

It’s also not just about the business itself—it’s about the fantastic people we connect with. The relationships we build with clients, team members, suppliers, and customers make this experience so fulfilling. These bonds help turn our community into a sort of family – filled with warmth and support.

Unexpected Gifts

I am incredibly grateful to work alongside a talented group of women who share a passion for repurposing beautiful home décor. The privilege of working with these amazing, intelligent, and genuinely funny women alone is a bounty!

In addition, each week, I meet lovely clients and their families, learning about their journeys and the vibrant lives they’ve led. I also have the opportunity to connect with our buyers and hear their stories about new homes, new ventures, or fresh chapters waiting to unfold.

Service with a Smile

As our online communities grow through social media, let’s not forget the magic that smaller communities—villages, towns, or cities—bring to our lives. Small business owners are what makes these places unique.

Independent businesses offer more than just products or services; they create joy and add daily connections to our lives. Local gems like Housewarmings, Monogram Mary, The Fred Shop, Athena Books, and No. 299 in Old Greenwich are just a few examples.

Each of these owners has worked tirelessly to build their business, becoming the friendly faces we look forward to seeing; the goods and services they provide come with kind words and care, free of charge!

So, no matter where you live, today, and really, on any day you come upon a small business born from the dreams of passionate individuals—let them know they are champions in your book!

Thank you for stopping by,

Betsy

After earning my Master’s Degree in Education, my dad, who owned an auto body shop in Greenwich, had a heart attack. One of my favorite customers asked me to refinish his wrought iron patio furniture with car paint. I thought it was a challenging request, but it turned out successful!
We are so excited to be hosting this beautiful “Collected Cottage” collection on Town & Sea. Your style is impeccable, and it’s truly an honor! What do you love about Town & Sea’s online marketplace for estate sales? And why choose Town & Sea to host your sale versus a traditional estate sale or tag sale?
